From Addiction and Hopelessness to New Life in Christ

Testimony from Cecil Asava: Cecil Asava’s life was marked by pain, loss, addiction, and hopelessness. Growing up while his mother battled cancer, he faced many challenges that eventually led him down a destructive path. Yet, in the midst of his darkest moments, the mercy of God reached him through Jesus Christ, bringing forgiveness, healing, and a completely transformed life through Morning Cloud TV. Read his powerful testimony below.

My name is Cecil Asava, before I share my testimony of salvation, I would like to thank God for what He did in my family.

When I was in primary school, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. At first, I did not understand how serious her condition was, but as it worsened, she had to stop working and come home. Eventually, she became so sick that she could neither eat nor speak, and many people believed she would not survive.

During that time, my mother had a vision in which she saw someone repairing her body. From that day, she began recovering. Today, by the grace of God, she is completely healed of breast cancer. I give all the glory to God for this miracle.

My second testimony is about my own salvation.

Growing up, I did not know Christ personally. In high school, I was a bright student, but peer pressure led me into a rebellious lifestyle. I secretly sneaked out of school at night and became involved in activities that could easily have cost me my life. Looking back, I know it was only God’s protection that kept me safe.

After high school, I believed success was all about making money. I joined college but had little interest in my studies because I was focused on business. At first, everything seemed to work out. I had a place to live, a small business, and a steady income.

Unfortunately, my business operated near a bar, and I slowly became trapped in alcohol, parties, marijuana, cigarettes, and other destructive habits. I abandoned my education, my businesses collapsed, and my life spiraled out of control. Although my family thought everything was fine, I was living in addiction and depression.

My mother even sacrificed what little she had to help me restart my business, but because of my addiction, I wasted every shilling she gave me. Eventually, I lost almost everything. I sold my belongings, was evicted from my house, and moved into a tiny room without even a mattress. For days I slept on the floor, trying to quit drugs, but every attempt failed. I had reached the lowest point of my life.

Finally, I returned home feeling hopeless, broken, and convinced that my life was over.

One day, while my mother was at work, she left the television on. Morning Cloud TV was playing, and I heard the Scripture, “For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again.” Those words immediately captured my attention.

I continued listening, and another message titled “He Took Me and Drew Me Out of Many Waters” spoke directly to my condition. The preacher described the waters of sin, corruption, and guilt, and I felt as though God was speaking personally to me.

When the invitation to pray was given, I knelt down in my room and cried out to God, asking Him to forgive me and help me because I had completely ruined my life.

That day, the Lord filled my heart with a peace I had never known before.

From then on, everything changed. My desire for my old lifestyle disappeared, and I found new purpose in Christ. Even though people still called me a failure, I had peace because I knew Jesus had begun restoring my life.

The joy I found was so real that I shared it with a friend who had also been living a party lifestyle. I introduced her to Morning Cloud TV and Apostle Takim’s messages. By God’s grace, she also gave her life to Christ and is now born again.

Today, money and worldly pleasures no longer define my life. Jesus Christ gave me a new heart, a new purpose, and a new beginning. Even the physical pains I used to experience because of drug abuse disappeared. The Lord healed me and completely transformed my life.

I stand here today as a testimony that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. If He could restore me, He can restore anyone.

To God alone be all the glory.

Thank you, Jesus.
